Product Description

Activated Carbon Type

Description

Bituminous Coal (BC)

The BC Series of activated carbons have been specifically manufactured from select grades of Bituminous Coal, which have been activated by high temperature steam under rigidly controlled conditions, for the removal of low to high molecular weight contaminants and color bodies.

Features:

·        High Iodine and Broad Pore Structure

·        Different sizes available

(4x10, 6x12, 8x30, 8x40, 10x30, 10x40, 12x30 and 12x40 US Mesh Powderized, 325 also available)

·        Less frequent change out = cost effective

·        Silver, black, gray in appearance

Bituminous Coal Acid Washed

(BC-AW)

The BC-AW has a low water soluble ash and low heavy metal content.

Features:

  • Ideal for high grade water treatment and process liquor purification where leachable carbon components are intolerable

Coconut Shell (CNS)

The CNS series of activated carbons have been specifically manufactures from Coconut Shells, which have been activated by high temperature steam under rigidly controlled conditions, for the removal of Chlorine, Chloramines, THM, Ozone and organics

Features;

·        Excellent hardness

·        Different sizes available (8x30, 8x40, 10x30, 10x40, 12x30 and 12x40 US Mesh)

·        High surface area and micropore structure

·        Less carbon change outs, less dust and fines, high adsorption capacity, lower presoak times, readily wettable

  • Gray/ black crushes granules

Modified Clay Media (MCM)

Modified Clay Media is composed of 20% to 30% organically modified bentonite clay with a 70% to 80% specially formulated anthracite/activated carbon blend.

Features:

·        Designed specifically to remove high-molecular weight hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons and heavy metals

·        Adsorbs oils and grease outside clay particle, therefore it is not subject to pore plugging

·        Has a capacity of up to 60% of its own weight

·        Works well upstream of activated carbon to extend the life of the carbon

·        Spent MCM has a BTU value of 14,000 BTU/lb

·        Particle size: 8x30 US Mesh

Zeosorb

Zeosorb is a crystalline hydrated alumino-silicate with infinite three-dimensional frameworks of silicon oxygen tetrahedral. The honeycomb crystalline structure readily absorbs molecules having diameters small enough to fit the entry channel. The exchangeable cations are calcium, sodium, potassium and magnesium.

Features:

·        Has a high Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) that leads to high absorption and neutralization of harmful elements as ammonia, lead, cadmium, cesium, copper, zinc, chrome, as well as other organic molecules.

·        Particle size: 8x20 US Mesh

Mercarb-1240

The Mercarb-1240 adsorbent for mercury removal from water and wastewater is available as a granular coal based 12x40 meah carbon. The unique impregnation used to produce the Mercarb provides a technical advantage allowing their use for mercury removal from higher temperature streams then competitive products.

Features:

·        Reliable cost effective means to reduce the mercury content in water and wastewater streams to below acceptable levels

·        Adsorption capacities can be up to 10% w/w basis

·        Requires a 1 to 5 micron bag filter for pretreatment
