Polypropylene microfiber is well known for its ability to adsorb oil. Its chemical composition and unique pore structure serve as a magnet to non-emulsified oils. Oils are drawn to, and trapped within, the multitude of void in the microfiber media. As a result, microfiber media can hold up to 7 times its weight in oil, dependent upon process variables such as the oil viscosity and process flow rate.
