Actuators

Waterra actuators that drive inertial pump tubing: the Hydrolift-2 electric drive for 2 in. wells to 150 to 200 ft, the PowerPack PP1 gasoline actuator that lifts water from over 60 m, and the Lever Arm manual actuator for light-duty sampling to 100 ft.

A Waterra inertial pump is a length of tubing with a foot valve: moving the tubing up and down lifts water to the surface, and these actuators do the moving. The Hydrolift-2 runs on a 3/4 hp DC electric motor from 110 V, with a 4 in. stroke at 0 to 180 cycles/min, for purging, developing and sampling 2 in. wells to 150 to 200 ft. The PowerPack PP1 runs on a Honda GX25 four-stroke gasoline engine, with a 4 in. stroke at 0 to 140 cycles/min, lifts water from over 60 m with the standard-flow system and fits a backpack frame. The Lever Arm is a manual actuator for above-ground well completions. Tubing is in Tubing.

Inertial pump actuator FAQ

How deep can each actuator pump?

The Hydrolift-2 works 2 in. monitoring wells to depths of 150 to 200 ft; the PowerPack PP1 lifts water from over 60 m with the standard-flow system; the Lever Arm suits occasional light-duty sampling to about 100 ft (30 m).

Electric, gasoline or manual?

The Hydrolift-2 needs a 110 V supply; the PowerPack PP1 runs on regular gasoline where there is no power and can be carried on a backpack frame; the Lever Arm needs no power at all, for an above-ground completion.

What else does an inertial pump need?

Waterra HDPE or LDPE tubing sized to the well and a foot valve, plus the tubing cutter and foot-valve wrench in Water Sampling Accessories.
