Transfer pipettes move a liquid; they are not meant to measure it precisely. ERE carries single-use LDPE Pasteur pipettes, graduated, in 1 and 3 mL sizes and 155 mm long, and Globe Scientific transfer pipettes in 3, 5 and 7 mL with 1 or 3 mL graduations, also offered sterile; both come 500 to a box. For larger liquid samples, the SteriWare jumbo pipettes hold up to 80 mL and the SteriWare Thumb Tube up to 60 mL, both sealed by thumb pressure to take a sample at a chosen depth. For measured volumes, use a pipettor.
Both are single-use LDPE bulb pipettes. The Pasteur pipettes come in 1 and 3 mL at 155 mm; the Globe transfer pipettes add 5 and 7 mL sizes at 140 to 155 mm. Their graduations indicate a volume rather than guarantee it.
Press a thumb on the tube, lower it to the sampling depth, raise the thumb until the levels equalize, then cover the end to seal the sample in. The 1,000 mm HDPE tube is made in a cleanroom and comes sterile (SAL 10⁻⁶) or non-sterile.
