Icon's pressure range is built for corrosive chemical, water-treatment and wastewater lines. Dial gauges: OBS gauges with an integral gauge guard (15 to 200 psi), the OBS-GO family (±0.75%), the OBS-V compound gauge (-30 to 30 psi) and the OBS-TT tell-tale gauge, which registers the highest pressure reached. When a PLC or an alarm must react, a dial is not enough: the OBS-LE LED gauges and PPT meter add 4–20 mA and two relays, the LP200/LP250 and LP50 send 4–20 mA, the LPS50 switches, and the DPS50i reads differential pressure. PulsePro dampeners and BRP valves steady metering-pump lines. Icon is quoted.

Pressure gauge and transmitter FAQ

Which wetted material?

Start with what touches the gauge: the plastic gauges list PVC, PP or PVDF bodies and temperature limits of 140, 190 or 240 °F. Check the material against your chemical's SDS before the range. Our pressure gauge guide goes through each model.

Gauge, switch or transmitter?

A dial is not a signal. If a PLC, an alarm or a pump has to react, use a pressure switch (LPS50) or a 4–20 mA transmitter (LP200/LP250, LP50), or an LED gauge that adds both. A 4–20 mA loop carries the reading and the power on the same two wires; see our 4–20 mA transmitter guide.

Why a pulsation dampener?

Diaphragm and metering pumps send a pulse with every stroke, and a fluttering pointer wears out and is hard to read. The all-plastic PulsePro needs no pre-charging and is listed to cut pulsation by up to 90%; the PulsePro PV and PF are pre-charged, listed at up to 95% and ship with a gauge. A BRP back-pressure valve (5 to 150 psi) holds the pump discharge steady so it meters accurately.
