Levelogger

Solinst Leveloggers are self-contained dataloggers that record water level and temperature in wells, piezometers and surface water. ERE carries the current Levelogger 5 series: the Levelogger 5 (±0.05% FS, 150,000 readings, 10-year battery at one reading per minute), the Levelogger 5 LTC that adds electrical conductivity, the lower-cost Levelogger 5 Junior and the Barologger 5 for barometric compensation. The vented LevelVent 5 and AquaVent 5 need no barometric correction, and the Rainlogger 5 records rainfall from a tipping-bucket gauge.

To read data without a laptop or a site visit, add a DataGrabber 5, the Bluetooth app interface or LevelSender 5 telemetry. ERE also services and calibrates Solinst instruments.

Levelogger FAQ

Do I need a Barologger with my Levelogger?

Yes, if you use non-vented (absolute) loggers such as the Levelogger 5, LTC or Junior: they record water pressure plus atmospheric pressure, and the Barologger 5 record is used to remove the atmospheric part. One Barologger typically covers every absolute logger within about 30 km and 300 m of elevation. Vented loggers (LevelVent 5, AquaVent 5) do not need one. See What is a Barologger?

Levelogger 5, LTC or Junior: which one?

The Levelogger 5 is the standard choice for level and temperature (±0.05% FS). The Levelogger 5 LTC adds electrical conductivity, for example to track saltwater intrusion or mine drainage. How do I get data out of a Levelogger?

Connect it to a computer with a Desktop Reader 5 or Field Reader 5. In the field, the DataGrabber 5 copies all logged data to a USB flash drive with one button, the Levelogger 5 App Interface connects to an iOS or Android device over Bluetooth, and the Solinst Readout Unit shows instant readings. A direct read cable lets you read the logger without pulling it from the well.

Can I monitor wells remotely?

Yes. The LevelSender 5 sends data over 4G LTE cellular to email and SMS recipients. The Model 9200 RRL radio system reaches up to 30 km line of sight to a home station PC, and the Model 9100 STS connects up to four Solinst dataloggers per remote station over 4G LTE, with solar or AC power options. How is a Levelogger installed in a well?

It hangs on a stainless steel wireline, a Kevlar cord or a direct read cable (up to 1,500 ft). Levelogger well caps fit 2" wells (4" with an adaptor), are vented for barometric equalization, can be padlocked and hold two loggers.
