HydraSleeves

A HydraSleeve takes a groundwater sample without purging. The closed sleeve is lowered on its own line to just below the target interval and left to settle, then pulled up in one motion: the check valve opens, the sleeve fills from that interval and the valve reseals when it stops. No pump, no power and no purge water to dispose of. Match the sleeve to the well. The Waterra Standard HydraSleeve for 2 in. wells holds 600 mL (30 in.) or 1,000 mL (38 in.), in standard or armoured versions, with spring clips and weights to match. The EON Standard HydraSleeve for 4 in. wells is 2.9 by 37 in. EON SuperSleeves (1.75 by 31 in.) fit 2 in. Schedule 80 and larger wells.

When is a HydraSleeve the right choice?

In low-yield or slow-recharge wells, for sampling a discrete interval, and where purge water is costly to handle. It takes one grab per deployment, so it does not replace a pump for high-volume purging or continuous low-flow sampling. See our HydraSleeve guide.

HydraSleeve or pump?

A pump gives a continuous low-flow stream to stabilize parameters before sampling; a HydraSleeve needs no flow at all, which is why it works in wells that would go dry under a pump. For pumped sampling, see groundwater sampling pumps.

Standard or armoured, and what else do I need?

The armoured 2 in. sleeve adds a protective outer layer for rough or rocky wells. Order the spring clips and weights with the Standard sleeves; SuperSleeves need a 1.7 or 1.9 in. two-piece top collar and a bottom weight, sold separately.
