Soil vapour extraction and air stripping move contaminants out of soil and water into an air stream, which often needs treatment before it is released. ERE builds activated-carbon vessels sized by airflow: the AirPod 500 and the 316 stainless AirPod 5000 (500 and 5,000 CFM), the UltraSorber-Air 500 with 2,000 lb of carbon, and UltraSorber-Air vessels from 500 to 5,000 cfm with 810 to 8,750 lb. The UltraVent-OD (up to 375 cfm) installs in hours, and the AirGuard 1250 treats ambient air up to 12,500 CFM. Fill each vessel with the UltraSorber carbon for the contaminant: Voc-Carb for VOCs, MER-Carb for mercury, KOH-Carb for acid gases and H2S, AMMO-Carb for ammonia.
Rent or buy across Canada and the USA.
It depends on the concentrations and the provincial air limits. Diluted exhaust from a low-concentration stream can meet discharge criteria; at higher concentrations (ERE's air stripping guide puts the line at about 500 µg/m³ in the exhaust), a vapour-phase carbon unit goes downstream. Your site data and the provincial guideline decide; see the air stripping guide.
Match the vessel's maximum airflow to the blower. Soil vapour extraction blowers run 55 to 400 SCFM open flow and the VOCease stripper 175 to 350 cfm, so both fit under a 500 cfm vessel such as the UltraSorber-Air 500 or AirPod 500. The carbon weight sets how long one fill lasts against the contaminant load; send us the concentrations to size it.
VOCs: Voc-Carb, a blend of UltraSorber-BC and VPP-Carb. Mercury vapour: MER-Carb, sulfur-impregnated. Acid gases and H2S: KOH-Carb, impregnated with potassium hydroxide. Ammonia: AMMO-Carb, phosphoric-impregnated. VPP-Carb is zeolite with 6% potassium permanganate, which oxidizes pollutants, and CannaSorb removes terpenes. All are in air filtration media.
The diesel oxidation catalyst system converts up to 80% or more of the soluble organic fraction and 20 to 50% of total diesel particulate, in a stainless steel housing.
