ERE carries portable and bench water quality meters from OHAUS and Hanna Instruments. OHAUS Starter portables, such as the ST400 pH meter, the ST400M pH and conductivity meter and the ST400D dissolved oxygen meter, are IP67-rated for field and wet work; Starter and Aquasearcher bench meters such as the Starter 5000 and AB33M1 cover the lab; AP30 turbidimeters read to 200 or 1,000 NTU; and Starter pen meters check pH, ORP and conductivity on the spot. From Hanna there is the edge® multiparameter meter, the HI83224 wastewater photometer (15 parameters, including COD) and pocket testers.
OHAUS meters show their price online and can be ordered directly; Hanna meters are quoted. ERE also rents multiparameter meters and repairs and calibrates water quality meters.
A portable meter goes to the sample: the OHAUS ST400 series is IP67-rated for field and wet environments. A bench meter stays in the lab and offers more resolution and features, such as the Starter 5000's 0.001 pH resolution. A pen meter or pocket tester is the quick spot check. Phase II groundwater sampling usually reads pH, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, temperature and ORP together, so a multiparameter meter saves swapping probes; for a single parameter, a dedicated meter is simpler.
