Site water usually runs through a treatment train: remove the solids, correct the pH, then take out what is dissolved. ERE builds each step. Solids: the Water Decanter, multi-bag filter housings and the self-cleaning EasyClean filter (20 to 400 micron). pH: the continuous-flow PH-200. Dissolved organics: cage-mounted carbon units, from the WaterPods 45 and 75 (45 and 75 GPM), DualPods and 3POD to the WaterPod 500 (500 GPM) and the WaterBox 100 container plant. Polishing: the Romikon 50 ultrafiltration system.
Media for the vessels, from activated carbon to ion exchange resins, are in water filtration media. Systems are offered for rent or purchase across Canada and the USA.
Start from the lab results and the discharge limit. Take out the solids first, because they clog carbon and media: settle them, then filter through bags; for batch work, the MiniFloc separates with a dry flocculant. Correct the pH when the water is alkaline, as concrete and construction water often is. Then treat what is dissolved: carbon for organics, an oxidizing media for iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide, activated alumina for arsenic or fluoride. Our remediation equipment guide maps contaminants to equipment.
Size by flow. The WaterPods 45 and 75 treat 45 and 75 GPM at up to 150 psi; the WaterPod 500 handles 500 GPM with 600 ft³ of media in a 20 ft ISO frame; the WaterBox 100 runs up to 200 GPM in parallel or 100 GPM in series inside an insulated 30 ft container, with four 61 in. FRP tanks and two 4-bag housings. DualPods (two vessels) and 3POD (three, moved by crane or forklift) are cage-mounted and include submersible pumps and a water meter.
Iron and manganese: Filox (75 to 85% manganese dioxide, also hydrogen sulfide), Greensand Plus, or Birm for iron, which needs no regeneration chemicals. Hydrogen sulfide and chloramines: catalytic carbon; KDF 85 also takes iron and hydrogen sulfide. Arsenic: iron-enhanced activated alumina or Greensand Plus. Fluoride: activated alumina (93% Al2O3). Hardness and dissolved salts: cation, anion and mixed bed resins. See our filtration media guide.
Yes. ERE's remediation systems are offered for rental or purchase across Canada and the USA; rental suits pilot tests and short projects. Send the flow rate, the lab results and the discharge limit with a quote request, and we will size the train.
