ERE carries water quality instruments for three settings. In the field, the Hanna HI9829 multiparameter meter measures up to 14 parameters, including pH, ORP, dissolved oxygen, conductivity and turbidity, with a 44,000-sample logger; single-parameter meters cover dissolved oxygen and turbidity, and pocket testers check pH, conductivity and TDS. In the lab, the Hanna edge® measures pH, conductivity and DO, and LaMotte supplies a COD heater block and COD reagents. On the process line, Icon Process Controls sensors measure conductivity, dissolved oxygen, turbidity and pH/ORP continuously, and controllers such as the U900 and D720 send 4-20 mA, RS485 and relay outputs.

ERE also stocks calibration solutions and repairs and calibrates water quality meters.

Water quality instrument FAQ

Multiparameter meter or single-parameter meters?

For groundwater sampling, where pH, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, temperature and ORP are usually read together, a multiparameter meter saves swapping probes in the field. For a single parameter, a dedicated meter or a pocket tester is simpler. Our water quality meter guide compares the options.

Portable meter or inline sensor?

A portable meter takes spot readings in the field or the lab. An inline sensor stays in the pipe or tank and feeds a controller continuously, which can drive alarms through relays and send data over 4-20 mA or RS485. The Icon U900 takes four sensors plus a temperature channel on one 7 in. touch screen.

How often should a pH meter be calibrated?

Before each day of use, and again if the meter was turned off, unless the maker says it holds calibration. Calibrate at pH 7.01 first, then at 4.01 or 10.01 so the two points bracket the pH you expect to measure. Our pH buffer guide explains the choice.

Can ERE calibrate or repair my meter?

Yes. ERE's repair and calibration service covers pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, turbidity and multiparameter water quality meters, including Hanna instruments, with a calibration certificate on every service.
