Equipment for sampling, monitoring and treating sludge and sediment. Sampling: AMS Ekman and bottom dredges and the Snapper for bottom sediment, sludge samplers and the multi-stage sampler kit for cores, and the Sludge Nabber and Swing Sampler for tanks and channels, all in Sludge and Sediment Sampling. Monitoring: Sludge Judge tubes for a blanket profile and Markland sludge blanket monitors. Treatment: Teknofanghi thickeners, belt filter presses and bag dewatering, in Sludge and Sediment Treatment, and Sampson silt bags. Everything is quoted: send the sludge type and volume with a quote request.
A grab sampler, such as a dredge or the Snapper, collects the surface layer of the bottom in one drop, for surveys of surface sediment. A core sampler collects a column, so you can see and sample the layers at depth. See our sediment grab sampler guide.
The Sludge Judge brings up a physical core in a clear graduated tube for a full depth profile; the Markland Sludge Gun gives an instant reading at one point with nothing to retrieve. Many plants use the Judge for periodic profiles and the Gun for quick daily checks. See Sludge Judge vs Sludge Gun.
Volume decides. TEKNOBAG DRAIMAD treats 2 to 20 m³ of sludge a day at 1% dry solids and needs room to store the bags while they drain; the MONOBELT belt filter press runs continuously at 1 to 140 m³/h. Both use polymer.
