GreensandPlus operates in Catalytic Oxidation (CO) mode — chlorine or another strong oxidant is fed upstream to keep the media continuously regenerated — or in Intermittent Regeneration (IR) mode. Typical capacity is 700-1200 grains of oxidized iron and manganese per ft² of bed area. Unlike many media, it needs no extended startup or preconditioning.
