Shipping Terms
These Shipping Terms describe how Environmental Remediation Equipment Inc. ("ERE") ships sales, rentals, and calibration returns to customers in Canada and the United States. These terms supplement and form part of ERE's Terms and Conditions. Last updated May 2026.
Terms of Payment: Terms of payment are Net 30 days with established credit. We also accept VISA, MASTERCARD and AMERICAN EXPRESS credit cards*.
Shipments: Freight is F.O.B. Montreal (E.R.E. Inc.) Appropriate charges (such as freight and insurance if specified), will be added to your invoice. These charges are determined (at time of shipment) by:
- Product plus packaging weight
- Overall package dimensions
Origin and Carriers: All shipments originate from ERE's facility at 8605 rue Champ d'Eau, St-Léonard, Quebec. ERE ships via established small-parcel carriers (Purolator, Canpar, FedEx, UPS) for orders within their applicable weight and dimension limits, and via LTL freight carriers (Day & Ross, Manitoulin, Midland, and others) for larger items including filter housings, drum-mount equipment, remediation systems, and oversized rentals. Customers may specify their preferred carrier and account number; charges will then bill directly to the customer's freight account ("collect" or "third party").
Lead Times: In-stock catalog items typically ship within one to three (1–3) business days of order confirmation. Items requiring calibration prior to dispatch (gas detectors, water-quality meters, particle counters, and other measurement instruments) typically ship within three to seven (3–7) business days. Special-order items and items drop-shipped directly from the manufacturer ship within the manufacturer's stated lead time, which ERE will confirm in writing at quote or order acceptance. Rental dispatch is typically same-day or next-business-day for in-stock fleet equipment when reserved before 2:00 PM ET. ERE will notify the purchaser in writing if any lead time will exceed quoted expectations.
Shipping Charges: Freight and handling charges are added to the invoice at the time of shipment based on actual carrier costs, including any dimensional weight surcharges, residential delivery surcharges, remote-area fees, and signature requirements. Insurance against in-transit loss or damage is available on request at additional cost; uninsured shipments are limited to the carrier's standard tariff liability. Charges quoted at the time of order are estimates; actual charges may vary based on carrier pricing at dispatch.
Risk of Loss: Title and risk of loss pass to the purchaser when goods are tendered to the carrier at ERE's Montreal facility (F.O.B. Origin). The purchaser is the shipper of record for purposes of carrier claims once the shipment departs ERE. ERE will assist the purchaser in initiating carrier claims as a courtesy but is not obligated to advance amounts disputed with the carrier.
Damage and Loss Claims: The purchaser must inspect all shipments on receipt and note any visible damage, missing cartons, or signs of mishandling on the carrier's proof-of-delivery document at the time of receipt. Concealed damage or shortage must be reported to ERE within five (5) business days of delivery, along with photographs of the carton, packing material, and equipment. Claims reported after five business days, or without photographic evidence, may be denied by the carrier and become the purchaser's responsibility.
Rental Logistics: Rental shipments are dispatched on the agreed-upon "in-service" date stated on the rental contract. Return shipping at the end of the rental period is the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise quoted; ERE can arrange and bill return shipping at the customer's request. Equipment must be returned in clean, complete condition with all accessories, cases, and calibration documentation. Late returns may be billed at the prevailing daily rental rate until equipment is received and inspected at ERE's facility. Damaged, missing, or excessively dirty equipment may be billed for repair, replacement, or decontamination at standard service rates.
Calibration and Repair Logistics: Equipment sent to ERE for calibration or repair must be shipped prepaid by the customer with a completed Repair / Calibration Service form. Equipment received without a service form may be held pending customer instruction. Calibrated and repaired equipment is returned to the customer via the customer's preferred carrier; freight is added to the calibration or repair invoice unless the customer provides a freight account number. ERE recommends adequate insurance on inbound service shipments — the customer's equipment travels at the customer's risk until received at ERE.
Customer Pickup: Customers may pick up orders directly from ERE's Montreal facility at 8605 rue Champ d'Eau, St-Léonard, by appointment during regular business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM ET, excluding statutory holidays). Pickup must be scheduled with customer service at 1-888-287-3732 at least one business day in advance to ensure the order is staged and ready.
International Shipping: ERE ships routinely to the United States on F.O.B. Montreal terms; customers are responsible for arranging customs clearance, paying applicable duties and broker fees, and serving as the Importer of Record. ERE supplies commercial invoices, certificates of origin (USMCA where applicable), and dangerous goods declarations as required. Shipments to destinations outside Canada and the United States are quoted on a case-by-case basis and may require additional documentation, lead time, and prepayment.
Holidays and Service Disruptions: ERE observes Canadian and Quebec statutory holidays. Lead times stated in this section are business days excluding weekends and holidays. ERE is not responsible for delays caused by carrier service disruptions, weather, postal strikes, customs holds, or other Force Majeure events as described in the Terms and Conditions.
