Choose the cassette by what you are testing for. Mold and bioaerosols: the Air-O-Cell and Allergenco-D slit impactors run at 15 LPM onto a glass slide, the Allergenco-D with a laminar-flow venturi for a more uniform trace; the Micro5 uses a 360° impaction chamber; Posi-Track full-slide cassettes print a barcoded serial number on the slide; and the Via-Cell keeps viable spores alive and stops growth in transit. Asbestos and fibres: 25 mm PCM cassettes with 0.8 µm MCE filters and a conductive cowl. Particulate and metals: MCE and PVC preloaded filter cassettes, and pre-weighed and match-weighed cassettes for gravimetric dust.

Pre-weighed or match-weighed?

Both spare the lab a pre-weighing step. A pre-weighed cassette carries its filter weight and serial number on the label (PVC, 5 µm, 15 µg tolerance). A match-weighed cassette holds two filters matched in weight: the top one collects, the bottom one is the control, and the difference after sampling is the mass collected.

What flow rate does my pump need?

The Air-O-Cell and Allergenco-D run at 15 LPM, and the Micro5 Posi-Track at 5 LPM; filter cassettes follow the flow your method sets. See air sampling pumps and our cassette comparison guide.

Can a cassette sample VOCs?

No. Cassettes collect particles and fibres; vapours and gases need sorbent tubes drawn by a low-flow pump. See the air sampling collection.
