Two families. Stainless PharmaScoops are reusable 316L stainless steel, made for pharmaceutical and food work: the PharmaScoops range from 10 ml, Long Handled PharmaScoops that keep the user from leaning over the product, Open, Square and Weighing PharmaScoops, the Scorpion PharmaScoop with a top handle for tight spaces, and the GMP Scoop and Jumbo PharmaScoop up to 5,000 ml. Single-use SteriWare PharmaScoops are moulded in a cleanroom in PS, PP or HDPE, individually bagged with the batch number on every pack, sterile or non-sterile: volumetric, GMP sample scoops with lids and blue metal-detectable scoops. PTFE scoops and 316L measuring scoops (1 to 50 ml) complete the range.
The 316L PharmaScoops: crevice-free construction, radiused corners and polished finishes make them easy to clean in line with GMP guidelines. The 304 Economy Scoops have crevices and the Scorpion Scoop Eco is spot welded, so neither is suitable for hygienic pharmaceutical or food applications.
Single-use SteriWare scoops need no cleaning or cleaning validation and remove the risk of carry-over between batches; on the GMP models the handle sits high on the scoop to keep hands out of the product. Stainless scoops are reusable and are cleaned between uses.
No. Measuring scoops are not certified measuring devices and need validation by the user. Volumetric scoops have a flat base, so they sit flat on a balance for weighing and decanting powder.
A blue polypropylene scoop with a metal-detectable filler, so a metal detector can find a scoop or a fragment left in product, and the blue colour stands out in most products. It can be used straight from the bag or used again.
