This collection covers two different jobs. Impact protection: Dynamic Safety hard hats with HDPE shells, all Class E. The Tremblant and the cap-style Whistler are CSA Type 1, which protects the crown; the Mont-Blanc is Type 2, which adds the sides and back; the Kilimandjaro is listed for Type I/II with a Sure-Lock ratchet suspension. Hygiene: RONCO honeycomb, invisible and medium-weight nylon hairnets with latex-free elastic, Easy Breezy, Care and pleated Cova-Cap bouffant caps, and the Care balaclava, which covers the head and neck. For beard covers, see Face Protection.
Type 1 protects against impact and penetration at the crown only; Type 2 also protects the sides and back. Since July 1, 2026, Canadian Construction Safety Council member sites require Type 2 with a four-point chin strap, a site rule rather than a law, so check your own site. See our hard hat guide.
The electrical class: Class E is rated to 20,000 V, Class G to 2,200 V, and Class C has no electrical rating. All four hard hats here are Class E. Colour is not a protection rating; employers set their own colour codes.
Immediately after it is struck, even with no visible damage. Inspect the shell, liner and suspension daily for cracks, dents, cuts, a chalky shell or frayed suspension; heat and UV, such as a vehicle's rear window, make the shell brittle.
