Which bag for chlorinated water?

A Thio-Bag. Its sodium thiosulfate tablet neutralizes residual chlorine at the point of collection, for water samples from municipal systems and pools. The flat and stand-up versions hold 100 ml.

Which bags go in a homogenizer?

Blender bags. Round-bottom bags have a rounded seal so sample fragments do not catch in the corners; filter bags have a finely perforated middle layer (330 µm) that holds solids back so you can pipette the liquid; plain blender bags are for samples discarded after testing.

How do I sample a surface?

Wipe it with a sponge bag. The Speci-Sponge comes dry or hydrated with 10 ml of a buffer that neutralizes several surface sanitizers, for work areas, equipment and carcasses; the PolyProbe puts a hydrated sponge on an 8-inch probe.

Can the biohazard bags be autoclaved?

Yes. Clavies bags are 0.05 mm polypropylene, steam autoclavable at 135 °C, and the largest sizes hold 65, 200 and 240 standard Petri dishes. The biohazard bags carry a printed biohazard symbol and a patch that darkens when steam sterilized; check each bag's rated temperature on its product page.
