A cartridge filter housing holds one or more cartridges in a pressure vessel. ERE manufactures two Sampson models in Canada: a uPVC housing for corrosive liquids (up to 80 GPM, 85 psi, 45°C) and a wall-mounted single-cartridge housing with a clamp closure. Watts single-cartridge housings cover residential and commercial needs. For industrial flows, stainless steel housings in 304L or 316L include multi-cartridge models, high-flow housings that use fewer, larger elements, ASME code vessels for 4 to 52 cartridges, and sanitary and high-purity housings in 316L.

Send us the flow rate, fluid, pressure and cartridge size, and we will size the housing.

Cartridge filter housing FAQ

Single, multi-cartridge or high-flow housing?

Single-cartridge housings suit flows under roughly 20 GPM. Above that, multi-cartridge housings scale by adding cartridges (4 to 52), while high-flow housings use fewer, larger-diameter elements, which cuts filter costs and maintenance. Our guide compares multi-cartridge, high-flow and sanitary housings.

What makes a housing sanitary?

Sanitary housings are built in 316L stainless steel with polished surfaces, FDA-grade gaskets and sanitary connections, as required for food, beverage, pharmaceutical and cosmetics production. The MicroVantage SFH series, for example, has a 25 RA internal finish and a removable bottom plate for full access.

Stainless steel or uPVC?

uPVC resists corrosive liquids and is light, but it is limited in temperature and pressure (Sampson uPVC: 45°C and 85 psi). Stainless steel handles higher pressures, such as 300 psi on the RH series, and 316L is the choice for chlorides, sanitary duty and aggressive chemistry.

Which cartridges fit?

Housings are built around standard cartridge lengths and end styles; the CSF series, for example, takes single open-ended cartridges with 222 or 226 connectors. Send us the housing model or the cartridge dimensions and we will match replacement cartridges.
