A meter reading is only as good as its last calibration. ERE stocks Hanna Instruments calibration solutions: pH buffers at 4.01, 7.01 and 10.01 in 20 mL sachets and 500 mL, 1 L and 1 gal bottles; millesimal pH buffers accurate to ±0.002 pH; conductivity standards at 84, 1413 and 12880 µS/cm and TDS standards, NIST-traceable and prepared to ISO 3696; ORP test and pretreatment solutions; turbidity standards for Hanna turbidity meters; ISE standards for ammonia, calcium, chloride and fluoride; and sample preparation solutions for soil pH.

Tell us your meter model and we will match the solutions. For the meters themselves, see water quality instrumentation.

Calibration solution FAQ

Which pH buffers do I need?

Calibrate at pH 7.01 first, then at 4.01 or 10.01 so the two points bracket the pH you expect to measure; use all three for wide or unknown ranges and for QA checks. Sachets suit field kits and single calibrations, and bottles suit labs that calibrate every day. See our pH buffer guide.

Which conductivity standard should I use?

Calibrate with the standard closest to the conductivity of your samples. Hanna standards come at 84, 1413 and 12880 µS/cm, in 500 mL bottles or 20 mL sachets, and TDS standards are prepared from the same NIST-traceable potassium chloride.

How long do calibration solutions keep?

Unopened bottles of most Hanna solutions, including the pH millesimal, conductivity, ORP and ISE lines, have a 5-year shelf life. Single-use 20 mL sachets give fresh solution for each calibration.

Do you have solutions for ORP and turbidity meters?

Yes. ORP test solutions confirm electrode accuracy at reference millivolt values, and pretreatment solutions condition platinum and gold ORP electrodes. Turbidity standards are stabilized polymer-bead suspensions (AMCO-AEPA-1), NIST-traceable, made for Hanna turbidity meters.
