How the DNAPL™ Oil Water Separator Works

The ER-DN-SS is constructed of stainless steel with special baffles, a V-shaped hopper, and weirs to direct flow, skim oil, remove DNAPL, and control liquid levels in the separator. The stainless steel coalescing media is oleophilic: oil coalesces and rises to the surface where it is removed via the adjustable skimmer, while DNAPL descends to the bottom and is discharged through the hopper.

The separator removes DNAPL contaminant and all non-emulsified oil from waste water with a minimum of suspended solids, producing an effluent with less than 10 mg/l of oil droplets larger than 30 microns. Separated oil discharges through a nozzle, DNAPL discharges through the bottom of the V-shaped hopper, and water discharges through the effluent chamber.
