ERE supplies the components and complete systems used to filter and treat process water, wastewater and contaminated groundwater across Canada. Filtration covers Sampson filter bags and bag filter housings made in Canada, filter cartridges and cartridge housings, and filtration media for iron, manganese, arsenic, fluoride and organics. Treatment covers reverse osmosis systems, OlioSep oil/water separators, air strippers, pH adjustment and mobile units such as the WaterPod 500 and the WaterBox 100.

Most projects start with three numbers: the flow rate, what is in the water and the discharge or quality target. Send them to us and we will recommend a setup, or the replacement consumables for the system you already run.

Water filtration and treatment FAQ

Should I use bag filters or cartridge filters?

Bag filters handle high flows and heavy solids loads at a low cost per change-out. Cartridge filters reach finer ratings and suit low-flow, high-purity or final polishing duty. Many plants run both: bags upstream to remove the bulk of the solids, cartridges downstream to polish. Our guide to bag vs cartridge filtration compares them in detail.

Which filtration media removes iron, manganese or arsenic?

Catalytic media such as Greensand Plus and Filox remove iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide, and Birm removes iron. Activated alumina comes in grades for arsenic and fluoride removal, and activated carbon adsorbs chlorine, taste, odour and organics. Each medium has its own pH range and service flow, listed on its product page; see our water filtration media guide.

Can ERE supply a complete or mobile treatment system?

Yes. ERE builds treatment systems in Canada, from cage-mounted carbon units such as the WaterPods 45 (45 GPM) and the 3POD to the WaterPod 500 (500 GPM in a 20 ft ISO frame) and the WaterBox 100, a self-contained plant in a 30 ft container (up to 200 GPM in parallel). They work on remediation and construction sites and treat industrial wastewater. Tell us the flow, the contaminants and the site conditions.

Do you supply replacement bags, cartridges and media for an existing system?

Yes. Sampson filter bags come in the standard sizes #1 to #4 with plastic or steel rings, and cartridges come in several lengths, materials and micron ratings, so many existing housings can be matched. Send us the housing make and model, or the size and rating printed on the old element, and we will quote the replacement.

Can you treat oily water or water contaminated with VOCs?

Yes. OlioSep oil/water separators, made in Canada, remove free oil from wastewater, and oil-absorbing filter bags and cartridges polish what is left. For dissolved volatile organics, the VOCease air stripper removes VOCs such as BTEX, MTBE, TCE and PCE at up to 99.9% efficiency, and activated carbon adsorbs what remains. Our air stripping guide explains sizing.
